Architecture Notes
For this renovation, the Boncraft team sought to incorporate elements of the English Country style for the exterior. We added a second story with brick walls and masonry lintels and sills, created an articulated roof adding a shed dormer and gabled façade element, and integrated an early 20th century Edwardian stained glass picture window. Old stone walls that traversed the property were restored and a bluestone surround was added to the front portico as a contextual reflection of the site.
On the interior, the contemporary open plan features ample spaces for leisure and entertaining, including a light and airy kitchen with cascading marble counters and a breezy screened-in porch. The living room fireplace was transformed with the installation of a 19th century reclaimed fireplace surround.
